I would like to express my gratitude to all those who gave me the possibility to complete this thesis. Special thanks go to my supervisor PD. Dr.med. Holger N. Lode who has played a pivotal role throughout this project, providing his confidence and enthusiasm. His advice and friendship will always be appreciated and remembered lifelong.
