Expertensysteme - ein Leistungsangebot für Nutzer in BID-Einrichtungen?

Abstract

Gegenstand dieser Arbeit sind Expertensysteme, von denen speziell die Nutzer von BID- (Bibliotheken, Informations- und Dokumentations-) Einrichtungen profitieren sollen. Unter einem Expertensystem wird hierbei ein Programm verstanden, mit dem das Spezialwissen und die Schlußfolgerungsfähigkeit von qualifizierten Fachleuten auf eng begrenzten Fachgebieten nachgebildet werden. Im ersten Teil der Arbeit werden Expertensysteme in das übergeordnete Gebiet der Künstlichen Intelligenz eingeordnet und einführend vorgestellt. Im Folgenden werden die theoretischen Einsatzmöglichkeiten im BID-Bereich und die praktisch entwickelten Systeme für Nutzer beleuchtet. Die Verbreitung von Expertensystemen wird exemplarisch mit einer Befragung an Berliner BID-Einrichtungen untersucht und statistisch ausgewertet. Zusammenfassend läßt sich feststellen, daß die im Zusammenhang mit dem Einsatz von Expertensystemen aufgetretenen Probleme zu einer gewissen Umorientierung in der Forschung geführt haben.

The subject of this paper are expert systems from which especially users of LID- (libraries, information and documentation) institutions are supposed to benefit. An expert system is defined as a program that within a specified field allows reproducing expertise and the expert's capability of drawing conclusions. The first part of this paper consists of an introduction to these systems and their classifcation within the higher field of artificial intelligence. In the following part the theoretical possibilities of using these expert systems in the LID-sector and the practical systems developed for users are described. The investigation of the dissemination of expert systems is conducted through examples and a following statistical analysis of the results. Interviews at several LID institutions in Berlin are included. As an overall result it can be stated that the problems which have arised in connection with the operation of expert systems have led to a re-orientation in academic research.
