Forschungsmethodologische Herausforderungen in digitalen Kontexten der Sprachlehrer*innenbildung
Abendroth-Timmer, Dagmar
Schneider, Ramona
This article reports on methodological challenges in digital learning settings based on multimodal data from a French-German telecollaboration project in foreign language teacher education (CONFORME). We assume that digital research contexts differ to a large extent from research contexts in face-to-face-settings in terms of collecting, editing as well as analysing data. The project shows that data records can be incomplete and asymmetric within the analysed groups. In this article, we explain why digital research settings need different methodological approaches and why quality standards should be further developed. Finally, we bring up ethical aspects and argue for combining different analysis methods.
