Analyse von Open Access Publikationen in der Bibliotheks- und Informationswissenschaft 2003 bis 2016

Abstract

Dieser Datensatz wurde im Zusammenhang mit einer Masterarbeit im Masterstudiengang Bibliotheks- und Informationswissenschaft, M.A. an der Humboldt- Universität zu Berlin im Jahr 2017 erstellt. Anhand von drei Forschungsfragen (FF) wurden Gold-, Hybrid- und Green-OA-Anteile unter den Publikationen im Bereich Bibliotheks- und Informationswissenschaft (Library and Information Science, LIS) gemessen und das Publikationsverhalten analysiert: 1. Wie viele Artikel erscheinen in OA-Zeitschriften? 2. Wie hoch ist der OA-Anteil in Hybrid-Zeitschriften? 3. Wie viele Closed-Access-Artikel sind selbstarchiviert? Für FF1 wurden im Directory of Open Access Journals 109 LIS-Zeitschriften berücksichtigt und die in ihnen zwischen 2003 und 2016 erschienenen peer-reviewten Beiträge gezählt. Für FF2 wurden LIS-Hybrid-Zeitschriften in den Journal Citation Reports 2015 identifiziert, und das Artikelvolumen sowie die tatsächlich frei zugänglichen Artikel zwischen 2010 und 2016 wurden gezählt. Aufgrund fehlender Standardisierung der Verlagsseiten und Datenbanken mussten die Daten meist per Hand ausgezählt werden. Für FF3 wurde eine randomisierte Stichprobe mit insgesamt 1046 Closed-Access-LIS-Artikeln aus dem Web of Science daraufhin überprüft, ob eine Green-OA-Version verfügbar ist.

This data set was created in connection with a master thesis in the master program Library and Information Science, M.A. at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in the year 2017. The research data forms a basis for an analysis of how the publishing behaviour in the field of Library and Information Science (LIS) has changed over the past years looking at three different OA-types: Gold OA, Green OA and Hybrid OA. The data was collected on basis of three research questions: RQ1 How many peer reviewed LIS articles were published in OA journals between 2003 and 2015? RQ2 How many articles in hybrid journals listed in the Journal Citation Reports 2015 were published OA? RQ3 How many of the closed-access LIS articles in the Web of Science have been made publicly available through self-archiving (green OA)? For Gold Open Access all peer-reviewed articles published between 2003 and 2016 in LIS Journals listed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (109) were counted. For Hybrid Open Access all LIS hybrid journals in the Journal Citation Reports 2015 were identified and the number of overall publications as well as the number of OA-publications between 2010 and 2016 counted. For Green Open Access a randomised sample of a total of 1,046 closed-access LIS articles from the Web of Science was examined to determine whether a Green OA version was available.
