The “South Asia Chronicle”, an annual bilingual (German-English) online and print journal, is an interdisciplinary platform for exploring the politics, economics, society, history and culture of the South Asian region, which includes the states of India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, the Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
In examining questions on a diverse range of themes and issues such as environment, sports, migration, gender, media and literature, the “South Asia Chronicle“ particularly takes international and trans-regional aspects into consideration. Each volume has a thematic focus within which cultural, social, economic and political topics of contemporary relevance are highlighted. The journal’s “Forum” section provides a space for contributions which, while falling outside the thematic focus of the volume, are of specific contemporary or scholarly relevance. Every volume also includes a short section for reviews.
The “South Asia Chronicle” will be published every year in April/May. A printed version of the journal can also be subscribed to on request.
